Blephex

Blephex is a painless in-office procedure used to exfoliate the lid margin and expose the gland orifices to allow for better gland expression.

Blephex

In cases of chronic blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction, standard therapies including daily warm compress use may prove insufficient. In these cases, blephex is an excellent addition to existing treatment modalities.

During the procedure, a disposable microsponge is spun along the edge of the eyelids, exfoliating the margin and removing debris and inflammatory biofilm.

The procedure typically lasts up to eight minutes and is repeated every four to six months.
