Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Nick Wisniewski

Dr. Nicholas Wisniewski was born and raised in Southeastern Connecticut; his parents still live in the Bozrah home where he grew up.  He has an older sister and a younger brother, so yes, that makes him the middle child.

He married his wife, Andrea, after meeting her at UCONN, in 2005. They have three beautiful and unique children Michael, Sarah, and Megan. They also share their home with their dog, Moose who keeps watch over them all.

Dr. Wisniewski is a graduate of Saint Bernard High School, UCONN and the New England College of Optometry.  He has spent most of his life in New England. There are many things he loves about New England.  He loves being outside whether he is running or biking, playing with his kids, doing yard work or cutting and splitting firewood to heat his house.  His wife loves nothing more than having a fire in the fireplace and watching a movie, though it is a challenge to find the time. They like to garden and one of his children’s favorite things to do is to cut the lawn with him.

Although Dr. Wisniewski dedicated much of the last few years of his life to starting this business, he also dedicated himself to be healthier.  He has for 10+ years participated in short triathlons, but with the support and encouragement of a group of friends and family completed an Ironman Triathlon.  If you don’t know what that is, ask him about it when you see him.

Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Rachel Bojarski

Dr. Rachel Bojarski grew up in Maryland and graduated from the Honors College at the University of Maryland. As a student, she volunteered as an EMT and ambulance driver at her local fire department, where she met her husband, Jeremy.

She went on to attend SUNY College of Optometry, where she received the Esther J. Werner Memorial Award for Academic Excellence for graduating at the top of her class. She also participated in a service trip to Mexico, providing ocular healthcare to residents of rural communities. She spent her final two years of school living in Connecticut after deciding that fresh air and beaches would be worth a longer commute.

Dr. Bojarski returned to Maryland to complete her residency in Ocular Disease at the Baltimore VA Hospital. As part of her training, she worked closely with ocular specialists at the Wilmer Eye Clinic at Johns Hopkins, but her favorite part of the residency was working with our veterans and their service dogs! In her time at the VA, she received two Gold Pin awards for providing exceptional patient care. She became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2023.

Outside of the office, Dr. Bojarski can be found at the gym or exploring a hiking trail somewhere with her husband and their mischievous lab mix, Wrigley. She is a personal trainer and studying nutrition in her free time--she'd love to chat about it at your visit!

Dr. Bojarski is happy to see patients who prefer to speak in Russian or Spanish.

Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Irene Antar

Dr. Antar is originally from Woodbridge, Connecticut. She graduated as an Honors Scholar at UConn studying Biological Sciences and Psychology. During her time at UConn, she researched the connections of the brain and visual system of rabbits.

She then moved to New York City to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Antar gained clinical experience in both New York and Maryland while earning her degree, and she developed a special interest in pediatric myopia control. She served as the treasurer of the student chapter of the American Public Health Association, helping organize the annual “Dining in the Dark” experience in honor of World Sight Day (the second Thursday of each October!). She also volunteered at the New Jersey Special Olympics, providing vision and eye health screenings to athletes with special needs.

Though she enjoyed her time experiencing the food and views of New York City, she decided to return to Connecticut to be close to friends and family.

Dr. Antar spends her free time reading, making sushi, and spending time with her cat, Peaches.
